This paper back revised edition -- written with Stanley
Kubrick in mind  -- puts more emphasis on the novel's
cinematographic features: scenes of mountain grandeur
alternate with close-ups of the universal human sides of
Appalachian culture.  Kubrick, alas, never lived to see it
completed.  All remain copies will be flat-signed by the
author.  This edition makes a great Christmas gift as a
reading copy to go with your collectible hard back copy,
which you will want to put on the shelf for safe keeping.

Swifter than Eagles: Bill White and the Battle of Athens, 1946
ISBN 0938212001   ISBN 13: 9780938212003
The importance of the dust jacket on a collectible book is highlighted by
AbeBooks current feature of "Books Worth Buying For the Cover Alone."

All copies of
Swifter than Eagles now on the market are second hand.  But
owners of those second-hand copies can greatly enhance the market value
of the book they are offering for sale simply by replacing the old dust jacket
-with a new one. Friendly City Publishing still has a few never used dust
jackets  for only $500 each.
A limited first edition with the original dust jacket can sell for 10,000 times as
much as the same book without the dust jacket.  Indeed, a new dust jacket,
Lopez, on Alibris, tells us, "can make the difference between a $35 first
edition and a $7500 first edition.
Friendly City Publishing has only one (1) never-sold copy of this book in
inventory.  Price: $10,000.00.
